| Noah Severino - Almaguin Highlands Secondary School - South River, ON
Noah Severino, our chapter co-president at Almaguin Highlands Secondary School, in South River, Ontario, was recently appointed as an ambassador for the grand opening of Toronto’s new Ronald McDonald charity house.
Noah successfully battled cancer as a youngster,and the support he received when he was undergoing treatment inspired him to give back to the community.
Now in his Grade 12 year at Almaguin Highlands Secondary School. Along with being Best Buddies chapter co-president, Severino is a student senator and heads up the radio station at the school.
He said giving back to the community has been a natural progression for him.
“The community definitely supported my family when I was fighting cancer and when I came home,” he said. “We had just moved here from Mississauga the year before, so to have the community support us like they did was amazing.”
Severino recalled a benefit concert that was organized at the high school in support of his family.
“I’ve seen the kind of difference positive support can make,” he said.
